Coloring with Gelatin and Paint

Use 1/4 Cup of gelatin

Add 1 Quart of water & mix thoroughly

Microwave for 2 -3 minutes
(we have an old microwave)

Stir Gelatin again

Add base color of paint, 1 tablespoon
Tint with 1/2 teaspoons of secondary color

Pour gelatin into individual squeeze bottles

Cool Gelatin quickly to 75-80 degrees F
Swirl in cold water (We use the block maker)

Place your finger over the tip, align carefully,
release finger

Start with a thin layer, once this sets up, add another. (this prevents clouding)
I am serious about this, start with a thin layer first, after it sets up add more!
Wait at least 1 hour for Gelatin to set up (Over night is best)

Pack with snow & add cold water until soaked. Since this photo was taken we have switched to a large syringe to add the water.
